Sara Gowin, RN

Founder of Peace of Mind Mental Health Group, PLLC

Sara Casual

Sara Gowin (she/her) is a Registered Nurse and the Founder of Peace of Mind Mental Health Group, PLLC. She is currently completing her Master’s program to become a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

 

Sara is a Women’s Mental Health Specialist with extensive expertise in trauma-informed care. She has long served as an advocate for victim-survivors of sexual assault in Lancaster County, where her work has been rooted in compassion, empowerment, and advocacy. Her clinical experience spans inpatient, outpatient, crisis, and interventional psychiatry, equipping her with a comprehensive and collaborative perspective on mental health care. She is particularly committed to supporting LGBTQIA individuals, ensuring that every patient receives affirming, inclusive care where they feel respected, supported, and understood.

Sarah Morales, CCMA, CPS

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant | Certified Peer Specialist

Sarah Morales (she/her) serves as the Behavioral Health Medical Assistant at Peace of Mind Mental Health Group. In this role, she supports both the clinical and administrative functions of the practice, helping ensure that clients experience a welcoming, organized, and supportive environment from their first point of contact through ongoing care.

As a Certified Peer Specialist, Sarah uses her specialized training and lived experience to provide support, encouragement, and guidance to others. Her role focuses on creating connection, fostering hope, and helping individuals navigate their own path toward healing.

​

Sarah leads Unapologetically Us, a free monthly LGBTQIA+ support group. This group provides a safe, affirming, and judgment-free space for individuals to connect, share experiences, and build community.

 

Sarah is passionate about reducing stigma around mental health and helping people connect with resources that support healing, stability, and overall well-being.

Connor Swan, MSW, LCSW

Lead Clinical Therapist |  Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist

Meet the Therapist: Connor Swan (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Lead Clinical Therapist at Peace of Mind Mental Health Group, PLLC, providing in-person and telehealth therapy to clients across Pennsylvania. She has experience supporting adolescents and adults across the lifespan through life’s challenges, including youth crises, family stressors, and dementia-related concerns.

As a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist, Connor provides neurodiversity-affirming care using strengths- and abilities-based approaches. Her work centers on relationship-building, conflict resolution, and evidence-informed talk therapy to help clients better understand themselves and navigate life’s transitions.

Katie Espenshade, MSW, LSW

Outpatient Therapist

Meet the Therapist: Katie Espenshade (she/her) is a Licensed Social Worker at Peace of Mind Mental Health Group, PLLC who is dedicated to supporting the emotional well-being of young people and their support systems. With extensive experience working with children and adolescents, Katie specializes in helping individuals and families navigate periods of crisis, transition, and growth.

Katie understands that “family” looks different for everyone and prioritizes a tailored, individualized approach for each client. She is passionate about helping young people and families move through challenging seasons by building emotional insight, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful, lasting change.

​

Katie is currently completing her EMDR Basic Training through an EMDRIA-approved program and has EMDR therapy openings available now. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals process distressing experiences and support healing in a safe, structured way.
